Doha Forum on Decent Work and Poverty Reduction
The Forum’s main objective is to contribute to a better understanding of the Decent Work approach and the powerful impact it can have on the Millennium Development Goals, with an emphasis on poverty reduction. It will also seek to identify policies that have proven their capacity to accelerate progress towards the achievement of the MDGs.


Family, Millennium Development Goals and AIDS in the Middle East: Linkages, Challenges and Opportunities
This symposium will examine the complex linkages between Arab families, the MDG and the evolution of the AIDS epidemic in Middle East countries. Presentations and discussions will focus on:

1. Family, HIV, Poverty and Inequality (focusing on migration, unemployment issues, etc.)
2. Family, HIV and Education (focusing on primary prevention among youth)
3. Family, HIV and Health System Integration (focusing on women, girls and children)
4. Family, HIV, Stigma and Discrimination (focusing on travel restrictions, PLHIV and key populations at a higher risk of infection)

Our Divisions

The Family Policy Division strives to raise awareness of family issues and promotes coordination of family policies and programs with local, regional, and international partners.

The Family Research Division works to establish an international network of academicians to conduct scientific research related to family issues.

The Implementation & Social Outreach Division develops and supports family-related social programs and services in Qatar and throughout the world.
